Uncle Lau and his parrot

Uncle Lau and his parrot “Bebe” is very easy to spot on his morning cycling route along the Kallang river. I first met him in 2004. At that time he was riding a classic yellow Dahon folding bike. He has a custom built handle bar fitted with a small branch, which is the resting place for Bebe. Bebe can speak a lot of phrases in a few languages including English, Cantonese, Hokin and Japanese. Uncle Lau is always happy when I see him occasionally on my way to work. He told me that cycling keep him fit and Beibei love the opportunity “to breath some air”. He meet his friend along the Kallang river park connector, chat with each other while doing exercise. In a way uncle Lau is my inspiration to keep cycling.
